We’re right in York’s historic core, so Trio is an easy stop whether you’re walking in from the station, cutting through from The Shambles, or already exploring Coppergate and the surrounding streets. The city centre is best explored on foot, and Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate is only a short walk from York’s car parks, park and ride stops, and bus stops.

Q-Park (closest multi-storey)

Garden Place, York YO1 7NT — maps.app.goo.gl/E85kPYyvw8xyTHGF7

From the car park, head out onto Garden Place and across towards Parliament Street — York’s main market square, lined with stalls and shops. Cross The Stonebow, heading towards where it becomes the Pavement, and Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate is the small turning almost immediately on your right, by St Crux Parish Hall. If you turned to head up Colliergate, you are actually walking up Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate for the first part! About a 4–5 minute walk.

Coppergate Car Park

Piccadilly, York YO1 9NX — maps.app.goo.gl/LSogcfbP9m5yiATVA

Exit onto Piccadilly and head north, passing Primark on your left. Where Piccadilly meets Pavement (Marks & Spencer is on the diagonal), turn right along The Pavement, past M&S and The Shambles on your left, and then at St Crux and before the Co-op, turn into Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate. About a 5–6 minute walk.

Fossbank (Foss Bank Car Park — a little further out, but cheaper)

14 Jewbury, York YO31 7PL — maps.app.goo.gl/MxizC14JquTc1sDz6

This one’s across the River Foss, so it’s a longer walk in — but a pretty one. Head across the road and to Peasholme Green – you are heading South West. Go along Peasholme Green past the Black Swan pub (it’s across the road on your left, and is one of the oldest pubs in York). At the end of Peasholme is a mini-roundabout, carry straight on, onto the Stonebow, past Roxy games/bar on your right, past the Co-op and to the right ahead of you you will find us on Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate. About 10–12 minutes, or follow the city walls in for a quieter route.

By Park & Ride

Most Park & Ride routes stop on Piccadilly, which is just a short stroll to Trio — a handy option if you’re commuting in for that early coffee, since it avoids the city centre car parks altogether.
